POW/MIA INSIDERS GLOSSARY

WIA:  Wounded In Action.

WING SIX:  The Thai Air Base located at Don Muang Airport in Bangkok.  Wing Six was used as JTF-FA’s staging area before CW3 Webb made arrangements at Utaphao Royal Thai Naval Air Base.

WITNESS:  Literally, an individual who actually observed a particular event.  This term is often applied to any person interviewed during a JFA.

WTF:  What The Fuck.

VIENTIANE:  Capitol city of Laos.

XO:  Executive Officer.  The second in command of a unit.

ZODIAC:  small inflatable boat used for underwater salvage operations and to deploy small teams into an area.

ZULU:  Greenwich Mean Time (GMT) designator used in formal military communications.
